Kishoree Foundation, a charitable trust, has been established by a small set of motivated people, with the drive and passion for bringing a positive change, howsoever small, in the lives of poor, disadvantaged and downtrodden. The foundation is working mainly in the areas of public health, menstrual hygiene, health and hygiene awareness among women and girls, women livelihood and empowerment and in community participation areas at the grass root level.

The foundation is working through taking up the issues of menstrual hygiene of girls and women in the rural areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. A comprehensive package of initiatives christened ‘Kishoree Pad’ is an endeavor to establish self sustainable, low cost and good quality sanitary pad manufacturing units and its distribution structures combining it with employment and livelihood for rural women with active involvement of rural community, self help groups and talented local girls. The first project was started in early 2019 in Bihar, and the third project is starting in Jharkhand from end 2020.

Registration and Tax Exemption

Kishoree Foundation is a registered trust with Government of Bihar, vide Registration No. 281-4-7-2019/Patna. PAN number of the foundation is AADTK8933F.

Kishoree Foundation is a tax exempt entity. Government of India (Ministry of Finance, Income Tax Department, ) after due diligence and satisfaction, has granted tax exempt status to Kishoree Foundation under section 12AA of Income Tax Act, 1961 vide Commissioner of Income Tax Exemption, Patna Registration No. CIT(E)/13/19-20/T-886. Further, Commissioner of Income Tax, Exemption, Patna has also granted necessary approval to Kishoree Foundation under section 80G(5)(vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 vide No. CIT(E)/13/19-20/T-535 with effect from financial year 2019-20 onward. Thus, all donations made to Kishoree Foundation are exempt from income tax as per provisions of section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
